1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy explains how Inventa Operations LLC (“Inventa,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the Tomo Books mobile application and related services (the “Service”).

Inventa Operations LLC is a Florida limited liability company based in Miami, FL, USA.

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into our Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Who This Applies To

Parents / Legal Guardians (“Adults”)
You are the account holder. Only adults can create and manage accounts, authorize child profiles, and accept Terms.

Child Users (“Children”)
Tomo Books is designed for children ages 3 and up, but only under adult supervision and consent.

Global Scope
This Policy applies worldwide. Certain regions (e.g., EU/EEA, UK, Switzerland, California) grant extra rights, explained in Section 8.

3. What Information We Collect

We collect information in three main ways:

A. Information you provide directly

Parent account details: email, password, display name
Child profile: first name or nickname, age range, reading level, reading and content preferences
Subscription information and support messages (including any contact details and content you choose to share with us)

B. Information collected automatically

When you use the Service, we automatically collect certain information to operate, secure, and improve it, including:

Device, app, and usage data (such as device type, operating system, app version, pages or screens viewed, buttons tapped, session duration, and other in-app events)
Reading activity and usage (such as books opened, time spent reading, pages completed, and interactions with reading features)
Reading preferences (such as favorite categories, topics, or languages inferred from your selections and usage)
Approximate location (region only), such as country, state, or general region, which may be derived from your IP address or device settings. We do not collect precise GPS location.

C. Information from third parties

App store purchase confirmations and related transaction details
Analytics and crash reports from service providers that help us understand app performance and fix issues

4. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

To provide and maintain the Service

Create and manage accounts and child profiles
Save reading progress, bookmarks, and preferences

To personalize reading experiences

Recommend books and content based on reading activity, reading level, preferences, and approximate location (for example, language or regional content availability)

To support safety and appropriate content

Help ensure content and features are appropriate for children’s age ranges and reading levels

To communicate with adults

Send account notices, subscription updates, and responses to support requests

To improve the Service

Analyze app and feature usage to understand what works well and what needs improvement
Diagnose and fix bugs, improve performance, and develop new features

To comply with laws and enforce Terms

Meet legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our Terms & Conditions and policies

We use app usage data, reading preferences, and approximate location only to operate, secure, and improve the Service and to personalize your experience. We do not sell this data to third parties.

5. When and How We Share Information

We do not sell your or your child’s personal information to third parties, and we do not allow behavioral advertising to children.

We may share information in the following limited situations:

With service providers
We use trusted third-party companies to help us operate the Service (for example, hosting, analytics, customer support, email delivery, and crash reporting). These providers may access personal information only to perform services on our behalf and are not permitted to sell your data or use it for their own marketing.

With app stores or payment platforms
When you make purchases or manage subscriptions through an app store or payment platform, those services handle your payment information under their own terms and privacy policies.

To comply with law or ensure safety
We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests from authorities, or protect the rights, safety, or property of users, children, or others.

As part of business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to continued protections consistent with this Policy. We will notify the adult account holder of any material changes.

We may also share aggregated or de-identified information (which cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual) for purposes such as understanding overall usage patterns or improving the Service.

6. Parental Controls and Children’s Privacy

Only adults (18+) can create accounts, accept Terms, and provide consent for a child’s use of the Service.
Parents can review, correct, or delete their child’s data, or withdraw consent, by contacting us.
Parents are responsible for supervising their child’s use of the Service and selecting appropriate content for their child’s age and reading level.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use local storage and analytics tools to:

Remember reading progress and preferences
Keep users signed in (where appropriate)
Analyze app performance and usage to improve the Service

If required by law in your region, we will provide options to manage or opt out of certain analytics or similar technologies. We do not use cookies or similar technologies to show behavioral ads to children.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, in the EU/EEA, UK, Switzerland, California, and other jurisdictions), you may have certain rights over your personal information, such as the right to:

Access and obtain a copy of your personal information
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your information
Restrict or object to certain types of processing
Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

Parents or legal guardians may exercise these rights on behalf of their children.

9. Data Security

We use technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to:

Provide the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy
Comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations
Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements

Upon request from a parent or guardian, we will delete or anonymize a child’s personal information, unless we are required to retain certain information by law.

Your information may be stored and processed in the United States and other countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) to protect your information when it is transferred internationally.

12. Third-Party Services and Links

Our Service may rely on third-party platforms and services, such as app stores, payment processors, and analytics providers. Those third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

If we include links to other websites or services, we are not responsible for their privacy practices.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify the adult account holder (for example, by email or in-app notice) and indicate the “Last updated” date at the top of this Policy.

If you do not agree with the updated Policy, you should stop using the Service and may request deletion of your data.
